Dr. Schauer is a versatile and accomplished executive scientist with a successful 35+ year record of innovative leadership in biologics technology development, process development and manufacturing. With a Ph.D. in Anaerobic Microbiology, Dr. Schauer is the Principal Consultant at Schauer Biologics Consulting, where he provides strategic planning and tactical support for technology development, process development or manufacturing activities at startup and established companies that are developing Biologics, Microbiome, (live biotherapeutic), or recombinant food products.

• At Harmony Baby Nutrition, Dr. Schauer was Chief Scientific Officer responsible for developing synthetic human breastmilk formulations using recombinant DNA technology and precision fermentation.

• At Avaxia Biologics, Dr. Schauer, was Senior VP of Technical Operations; where he was responsible for Process Development, Manufacturing, Quality and Program Management.

• In previous positions (Inspiration Biopharmaceuticals, Hospira, Millipore, Biogen, and Genetics Institute\Wyeth\Pfizer), Dr. Schauer held positions of increasing responsibility associated with biologics: technology development, manufacturing, process development, research, and project\program\portfolio management.
